“CARME MANUEL” young scholar Award

The award recognizes junior scholars who demonstrate promising scholarly contributions to U.S. studies with their active academic careers. Awards are granted biannually, coinciding with the celebration of SAAS conferences, and will be announced at the general assembly.
Nominee profiles:
- Candidates: PhD students who are SAAS members with a minimum two-year membership.
- The nominee must have participated in the Felix Martin Doctoral Seminar the year before the SAAS conference.
- The nominee must be about to complete their PhD (defense/ viva programmed for the current academic year or following year)
- The nominee must have a paper accepted at the current SAAS conference.
Documents Required:
- Transcripts for university degrees (not including the master’s degree in education training).
- Curriculum Vitae (publications, conferences, research stays, awards).
- Abstract of paper for the corresponding SAAS conference and confirmation of acceptance.
- A letter of recommendation from a SAAS member in good standing.
- Doctoral project approved by an official Doctoral Program.
